For Women - By Women: O Womaniya @ Rangoli
Two young girls, Anusha Anil and Poornima Lakshmipathy, set the stage ‘O Womaniya’ for the women to turn into entrepreneurs. The event helped women to move out from the four walls of their homes and explore the world not just for fun but for business! 1st edition of ‘O Womaniya’ was focused on celebrating womanhood at Rangoli - The Metro Art Center , Central Bangalore. It started at 11 AM, 28th January 2017 and concluded on 29th Jan 2017, 6 PM.The two day event was organized by Space Event with immense support from Laghu Udyog Bharati, Karnataka. It was the exhibition cum sale platform having a wide assortment of lifestyle products as well as programs to entertain the crowd with games, competitions and live performances. In all there were 18 stalls, small shops that turned a simple long stretch of Rangoli, The Metro Art Center into a colourful market. Tanjore painting, handcrafted jewelry, brass items, apparels, art works, organic & homemade products, home décor accessories, wooden handicrafts and murals featured primarily at the flea market.There was also an awareness program on polio vaccination by Rotary Club of Bengaluru South End. The volunteers were constantly on their move to inform passer-by to get their kids two drops of medicine for a polio free life. In addition, there was an appealing spot held by Aashwasan, an organization that brings in the knowledge of Lifeforce MechanismTM and Timeless PhenomenonTM to transform lives.Being an exclusive event for women it had all the charms to pamper and please them, apart from shopping , like the Mehendi and Nail Art. Ladies holding mehendi cone and nail polish brush were skilled at their work. Walk-in-women and girls of all age groups enjoyed and were elated with the designs on their palm and art on nail. One thing common in all the stalls was that the products offered for sale were of good quality and reasonably priced.
To give confidence to women for embracing entrepreneurship, talks by successful women entrepreneurs was organized. It enhanced the positive energy of the environment and enforced the drive in homemakers to unlock the potential inside them. Live musical and martial art performance was another treat for the spectators and buyers at the event.It was an amazing learning experience for Anusha and Poornima throughout while conducting ‘O Womaniya’. They started with sheer excitement but faced lot of hurdles yet they were determined to make the event happen. And yes, it did go on well! They proudly give the entire credit of the successful program to their friends, Laghu Udyog Bharati and Rangoli, Metro Art Center for staying with them during the hour of need. They are thrilled to return back with the 2nd edition of ‘O Womaniya’ next season with the promise to proffer more fun for the buyers and guests and enormous prospects for women entrepreneurs!!
