Harishchandragad is located in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. It is famous for beautiful trekking route and especially Kokankada, a huge cliff which has a vertical drop of 2000ft. The beauty of Kokankada is far beyond power of words to be explained. Every nature and trekking lover must experience it. A little further away from the fort is Taramati peak, which is the third highest peak of Sahyadhri. The view from the top provides a breathtaking view of surrounding mountain ranges. There are 9 caves on the top which can comfortably accommodate 100-150 people. The temple on the fort is of great architectural and historical significance.
Itinerary Saturday. 20:50: Catch Kasara Fast local train leaving CST at 20:52. You can catch the train from stops on the way. 23:05: Reach Kasara and start travelling to base village Pachnai via private jeep.
Sunday. 4:30: Reach Pachnai village and the trek begins. The trek passes through some of the best landscapes. 9:00: Reach Harishchandragadh and explore the fort. 10:30: Reach Konkankada and explore the place. Session by Parth Upadhyaya about his Everest Expedition 11:30: Begin the descent. 1:30: Reach base village and have delicious home made lunch. 14:30: Depart for Kasara and then Mumbai . 21:00: Reach Mumbai and the trip ends with happy memories.
