Rajmachi Fort is a strategic fort overlooking borghat/ Khandala ghat which was a historical trade route. There are two fort - Shrivardhan and Manaranjan which were built by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during the 17th century. Rajmachi can be reached by 2 ways, the tough route from Kondivade village near Karjat and the other easy route from Lonavala.
Elevation: - 3600 feet (approx.) Grade: Easy. But you need to walk 20 kms
Itinerary: #Saturday 23:00 - Assemble at Thane (East) near the ticket counter of platform 10A 23:15 - Start traveling in a bus to Lonavala
#Sunday 03:00 - Reach Fansarai Village and start trekking towards Rajmachi Village. Please note that only jeeps and bikes can reach Rajmachi. Our bus will stop a few kms before Rajmachi at Fansarai village and we need to walk from there through the forests. 04:30 - Reach Rajmachi and rest for an hour. 05:30 - Start trekking to Shrivardhan fort. It is half an hour trek and if we can start early then we will get a chance to see beautiful sunrise across the mountains of Lonavla. 08:00 - Reach back to Rajmachi village. Get fresh and have breakfast 09:00 - 20 mins trek to the Manoranjan fort. While coming back we will also see the temple of Rajmachi. 11:00 - Start walking to Fansarai (where our bus will be waiting). 12:30 - We will start our journey back to Thane on the same bus.
