It's monsoon and there is no better time to unwind and explore the Yeoor Hills which are located on the eastern side of SGNP. It is home to some of the most varied species of butterflies, insects and birds in the city. Listen to the sound of different birds chirping, walk through water streams and enjoy the rains amidst trees.
If you're lucky you may even get to see some small reptiles and mammals. This nature trail is suitable for all those nature lovers to be it, children or adults. So grab your raincoats and tighten your shoes as it is going to be a perfect place to spend the weekend with your children.
About Yeoor Hills
Yeoor hills is a buffer zone. It is located at the eastern side of Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Yeoor Hills lies just a few kms from Thane. The area is popular for nature lovers for children education trips, nature walks and bird watching. This trail is one of the most pleasurable walks as it crisscrosses many small but a rapid forest stream at different points and wading across this knee-deep, crystal clear water is nothing less than therapeutic for a city-slick soul. This stream also offers amazing opportunities to encounter myriad life forms and some really quite an essential solitude.
This trek is our signature trek and is usually guided by our Wildlife Expert Mr Nikit Surve, who also happens to be the man responsible for Mumbai's leopard Census conducted in both 2015 & 2019 within the national park. He is also a Sanctuary Asia Awardee & a TEDx Speaker.
With Nikit Surve's guidance and presence on this trail, one stands to experience and learn much in detail about the wondrous wildlife specifically in the SGNP forest. His deep understanding of the SGNP forest and its inhabitants will make this trial an enriching experience for any nature lover.
This trail is a perfect getaway to unwind from the chaos of the city and to explore the forest life on an easy level.

The difficulty level of this hike is Easy to Moderate. The trail is short and thus makes it perfect for beginners looking to have a relaxed morning in the forest.
How To Pack & Prepare:
- No.1 Rule of trekking is Pack Light
- Grab a small to medium sized bag and put in items mentioned in our Essentials list.

The Right Clothing:
Sportswear is recommended.
Please avoid wearing bright clothes/jeans.
Ensure that you are comfortable in what you choose to wear and that the material does not restrict your movement while trekking and climbing.
Full clothing is recommended to avoid direct contact with plants and trees that might cause an itch.

A trek in the forest requires for one to stay positive and open-minded at all times regardless of the situation. Mind you, this is not a picnic but a trek in the mountains. Mother nature could choose for the weather and environment to be tough or easy on us. However, it is important for us to stay grounded and keep our heads over our shoulders, to not panic and to keep confidence in the decision of the trek leaders. Apply Mosquito Repellent and Please do not litter.
