Hampi is a world heritage site situated in the banks of the Tungabhadra river.
On one side of the river, you see monuments and temples from the time of King Krishnadevaraya, on the other side its hippie paradise! Here you find travellers from all around the world relaxing in cafes.
We will be showing you the best of both worlds.
Trek up a fort at the end of which you get a birds-eye view of Hampi. Walk along the edge of the fort to enjoy the view of the Tungabhadra river going across the city.
After the trek, we have some tasty local food and enjoy a drive through the beautiful plantation fields.
Then we take a dip in the lake, where you can try cliff diving or just sit and enjoy the serenity of the enormous secluded lake.
Before sundown, we head to Anjunadri Hill where we climb up to the sunset point. Lying on the cliff and watching the sun go down brings a kind of peace you have to experience to fully understand.
We head back to the campsite where the tents are pitched, and the bonfire is lit, hot dinner is ready. Its party time!
The next day we head to the other side of Tungabhadra River, the architectural side. We head to the Vijaya Vittala temple which has the famous stone chariot (Look behind a new fifty rupee note! Yep that's the one!), it also has musical pillars a slight knock on the pillar reverberates the musical notes. Its the perfect place to get some amazing clicks!
This is followed by lunch at the famous Mango Tree restaurant and a visit to the flea market (put on your shopaholic shoes). If you are not interested in shopping, we also take a small hike to a hill where we enjoy another beautiful sunset.
Finally, its time to say goodbye, we head back to Hyderabad with some great memories.
