Plan The Unplanned in collaboration with IwasThere presents Brahmatal Trek

While winters make trekking a difficulty in the Himalayas, the Brahmatal trek is an exception. This very reason makes Brahmatal trek a unique experience wherein the trekkers tread their way through the snowy parts of the Himalayas. Brahmatal is a hidden and secluded lake amidst the ridge, where Lord Brahma meditated according to the mythology, making this trek is a Hidden treasure of Uttarakhand. This trek of a lifetime is organized in collaboration with I Was There company.

The trek is a balanced combination as we walk through the dense Oak and Rhododendron forests as well as snow-covered meadows. The surroundings of the high altitude Brahmatal lake is serene and on a clear day, one can see the perfect reflection of mountains in it. It also offers majestic views of Mt. Nandagunti and Mt. Trishul from the highest point on the trek and a panoramic view of other Himalayan peaks. This trek is an excellent choice for first-timer trek in Himalaya as there are fewer chances of altitude sickness due to most of the trek being in a gradual ascend.

Kudremukh Trek (3rd Aug - 5th Aug)I have been planning for the Kudremukh Trek for a long time. But was very hesitant to do it on my own. There is a limited (50 person) entry for the trek to the Kudremukh and I was not sure about the entry, gates and entry free. Online portals dont have specifics of the details, and the information didnt seem updated. After doing some research, I came across Plan the Unplanned (PTU), and they seemed to be the most reliable. I heard great review from friends and colleagues, so I went ahead and booked Kudremukh Trek for the weekend of 3rd - 5th August. It was a wonderful trip, to say the least. The planning and execution were absolutely on point, and Plan the Unplanned (PTU) exceeded my expectations. Below are some highlights: Very good transportation facility (AC Bus) Stay was arranged at Bella Homestay. Good clean dorm room. Separate rooms for boys and girls. We were 11 guys staying in room. But it was still decently comfortable. Great food at the homestay. Aunty makes some amazing Idllis and Tomato rice :D Permits were taken care before reaching the entry point of the trek, avoiding last minute hassles. (Such a relief) It was relatively easy for experienced hikers but moderate for newbies. But definitely one of the most scenic treks with lots of greenery and gushing water streams on the way. And windows XP theme hills ;) The fellow trekkers were good. Very motivated and great sport. Last but not the least the Trek Leader (Adith, Megha, Deepika, Yash) were awesome. They are very engaging and responsible. Kudremukh trekkers were mostly in contact with Adith & Megha. And they did an awesome job of coordination and I highly recommend them. Will plan my next trip with Plan the Unplanned (PTU) soon. - by Tapash for Kudremukh Monsoon Trek | Plan The Unplanned organized by Plan The Unplanned .
