This event is at the ITC Windsor as part of the ArtMantram Festival of Art Craft and Design Bangalore.
About Sudharak Olwe
Sudharak Olwe is an Indian social documentary photographer. He is based in Mumbai and uses his camera to expose the darker side of society. Born on March 19, 1966, in Akola, Maharashtra, Olwe moved to Mumbai shortly after high school. Passing out of Xavier's Institute of Communication and having studied at the JJ School of Arts, he joined the Free Press Journal in 1989 as a press photographer. Starting out as a press photographer in the city with leading newspapers such as Indian Express, Times of India and making a mark in photojournalism, he then moved towards travel and documenting stories of courage and change throughout the country.
Abroad, his exhibitions were well received in Sweden, Bangladesh, Amsterdam, USA, Cambodia, Japan, and Germany. In 2005, he was one of the four awardees for the National Geographic’s “All Roads Photography Programme”. In 2016, Sudharak Olwe was conferred the Padma Shri, India’s 4th Highest Civilian Award by the President of India, in recognition of his valuable contribution and tireless work.
Antra Bhargava is the CEO of SuVitas- India's first Transition Care chain that is a pioneer in the use of Art and Music therapy for healing purposes. Antra is also the Founder and Managing Trustee of The WoW Kitty, a charitable trust that focuses on women empowerment through financial independence. She has worked with several charitable causes and projects involving special needs and underprivileged children and was fortunate enough to meet Mother Teresa during a volunteering stint.
