Swami and Friends are one of R.K.Narayan's most beloved books and Joy of Anubhava would love to introduce this story to a new generation of children. We will be running a two-day workshop to deep dive into the book, understand the characters and the story, come up with our own interpretations of the story, and apply this in different situations. We will be doing all of this using different art forms- drawing, storytelling, theatre, writing, and music!
So, imagine creating a small skit involving Swami, Mani, & Rajam's reunion in 20 years time! What if you could draw your impression of what Malgudi looked like? What if you could come up with your ending for the story? What if the story took place in 2020? How would the friends communicate with each other? Can you re-tell that story? Join us on the 4th and 5th of January from 11 AM to 2 PM at Atta Galatta to participate in these activities. Let's ask the right questions, solve some critical problems, work with different kinds of people, and think creatively together!
