Looking for your next trek destination?  Back your bags and leave overnight to an altitude of 2,725 feet above sea level and begin a wonderful trek through the lush green hill station of Agumbe in Shimoga, Karnataka.

Located at a distance of 380 km from Bangalore, Agumbe is a high altitude village in the Malnad region of Karnataka and is often referred to as The Cherrapunji of the South because of its scenic beauty and biodiversity. It also comprises of many medicinal plants and is home to the only Rainforest Research Station in India. Surrounded by the majestic mountains of the Western Ghats, covered in depths of lowland rainforests and touched by beautiful waterfalls and streams, Agumbe is the perfect place for a trek.

Start your journey through a trail of the forest to immerse yourself in the beauty of a waterfall, warm your hands over the campfire, travel to the era of Malgudi days and drink in the spectacular view from one of the highest peaks in the Western Ghats.

DAY 0

  • Depart from Bangalore At 8 PM

 DAY 1

  • Reach Homestay/Campsite
  • Freshen Up and Breakfast
  • Reach The Trek Base and Start Your Trek To Kavaledurga Fort (6kms to and fro)
  • Packed lunch
  • Time for a dip in river Kattina Madike
  • Return to homestay
  • Campfire ( if weather permits)
  • Dinner
  • Rest for The Night

  DAY 2

  • Have Breakfast
  • A Small easy trek to the highest peak in Agumbe Rainforest is to Kundadri Hills ( total 6 km)
  • Self-sponsored lunch
  • A small hike to Sirimane Waterfalls
  • Visit Famous Shringeri Temple (optional )
  • Depart to Bangalore and reach by 5 AM  next morning(Approx)

STAY

  • Campsite
  • Accommodation in tents on a double/triple sharing basis, separate for men & women. If couples ( let us know on call )
  • Sleeping bags/blankets available
  • Washrooms/Changing room facility available

MEALS

  • Breakfast on Day 1 & Day 2
  • Packed Lunch on Day 1
  • All meals included will be Veg

TRANSPORT

  • Non-A/C Tempo Traveller or Mini-bus with push back seats depending on group size
  • Bangalore to Bangalore

GROUP SIZE

  • 10-30 Members
  • We have an equal male to female ratio for most of our treks
  • We require a minimum of 8 members to confirm the event
  • In case we fail to obtain the required minimum, a full refund or the option to transfer to any other event will be provided. (Option of transfer shall be subject to payment/refund of balance amount if any)

    • New Shanti Sagar Hotel - 8:45 PM- Old Airport Road, Domlur, Bengaluru, Karnataka
    • KTM Mekhri Circle - 9.30 PM  Mekhri Circle Junction, Raj Mahal Vilas Extension, Armane Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka

  • Please select your preferred pickup point from the drop-down list while booking
  • Any change in Pick up locations/ timings would be updated via mail 24 hours before the start of the trip
  • Drop-off points shall be the same as the pick-up points

Kudremukh Trek (3rd Aug - 5th Aug)I have been planning for the Kudremukh Trek for a long time. But was very hesitant to do it on my own. There is a limited (50 person) entry for the trek to the Kudremukh and I was not sure about the entry, gates and entry free. Online portals dont have specifics of the details, and the information didnt seem updated. After doing some research, I came across Plan the Unplanned (PTU), and they seemed to be the most reliable. I heard great review from friends and colleagues, so I went ahead and booked Kudremukh Trek for the weekend of 3rd - 5th August. It was a wonderful trip, to say the least. The planning and execution were absolutely on point, and Plan the Unplanned (PTU) exceeded my expectations. Below are some highlights: Very good transportation facility (AC Bus) Stay was arranged at Bella Homestay. Good clean dorm room. Separate rooms for boys and girls. We were 11 guys staying in room. But it was still decently comfortable. Great food at the homestay. Aunty makes some amazing Idllis and Tomato rice :D Permits were taken care before reaching the entry point of the trek, avoiding last minute hassles. (Such a relief) It was relatively easy for experienced hikers but moderate for newbies. But definitely one of the most scenic treks with lots of greenery and gushing water streams on the way. And windows XP theme hills ;) The fellow trekkers were good. Very motivated and great sport. Last but not the least the Trek Leader (Adith, Megha, Deepika, Yash) were awesome. They are very engaging and responsible. Kudremukh trekkers were mostly in contact with Adith & Megha. And they did an awesome job of coordination and I highly recommend them.
