Do you desire to be a published author? Do you believe there is a story or information you want to share with the world through a book? Do you want to see your book out there on the stands?

Perhaps, you have a flair for writing and want to leverage that to write a book. Perhaps, you are a freelance writer, blogger or casual diary writer. :) Or maybe, you have already found an idea for your book, but are not sure of the steps involved in taking it to the market. If any of these scenarios resonate with you, you will find this session useful.

Irrespective of how much of writing you have done in the past and what kind of book you want to write, this session is for you.

Presenting 'THAT FIRST BOOK'. An interactive session that will guide you in going from an idea to a published book.

First of all, did you know that writing a book is not only about writing it? Sounds paradoxical, eh? But that's the truth!

Bringing out a book involves a series of steps and decisions that involve identifying the right topic for the book, converting the topic into a manuscript, researching the topic thoroughly, getting a publisher to back the book, juggling the actual work of writing with your other responsibilities, figuring out how to price the book, how to promote it and so on.

In this 3 hour session, I will walk you through the steps involved in the making of a book. I will break misconceptions about this subject and show you ways of beating motivational bottlenecks you may encounter along the way. You will go back with clarity on what it takes to write a book, how to find potential topics, how to find a market for your book and how to manage the whole project better. I will draw from my own experience of becoming a published author and from those of other authors. Also, I will give you an overview of the publishing industry in India and how different genres are performing in the market.

In short, this session will motivate you to give the book your best shot.

I am taking only a small batch; so, do register immediately.

Please note:

1. Even if you don't plan to write a book soon, but want to know the process and the dynamics involved, this session is for you.

2. This is not a creative writing workshop. I may conduct that separately, but this session is about learning the aspects of writing a book, researching it, managing it as a project keeping a deadline in mind, understanding the publishing landscape (including self-publishing), learning how to approach publishers, how to promote your book and other related aspects.

3. My sessions are very interactive and they proceed at a pace that is comfortable to all. I will answer your questions to the best of my ability. If I am not able to answer a question then and there, I will find out the answer and get back to you after the session.

4. So come with an open mind, to talk about your writing journey and to learn something new and exciting. Let us all have some fun!
