At the picturesque forest-farm situated on the edge of the Western Ghats in Dharwad, children will explore life in a forest-farm from tiny insects to large critters that support the land and people. From over 200 varieties of medicinal plants growing here, children will learn about the science and art of traditional medicine.
Theyll live the life of a farmer to work with the earth, learn natural farming practices and grow their own food. They will also explore the villages on the fringes of the farm while having lots fun with kids in the village through various traditional games!

About our campsite Suman Sangam: This forest farm situated on the edge of Western Ghats is about 10Km from Dharwad. It is home to tremendous variety of flora and fauna. In a way its a celebration of biodiversity with 80-100 varieties of birds and 20-25 species of butterflies calling it their home. A barren patch of land 25 year ago has been nurtured back to life through a sustained effort of natural water recharge and plant propagation.
Team: Camp leader, Deepti R Bhat is an educationist trained in outdoor environmental education in Sweden and specializes in designing & organizing outdoor based learning programmes for kids in all age groups.
Our camp facilitator, Nagaraj Pattar, is an educator and theatre practitioner with vast experience in conducting varied childrens' workshops. We will also have experienced local resource persons joining in to support the learning and other day-to-day activities at the camp.
