1. Pronouncing Chinese syllables normally involves three elements: vowels, consonants, and tones.
2. Chinese is a tonal language, i.e. a sound pronounced in different tones is understood as different words. There are 4 Basic Tones.
3. Each Chinese character is composed of strokes. will introduce basic strokes.

Ms. Hillary Yan is from Shanghai, China. She began her study in Jiang Xi University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language in 2011. She continued toward the Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at Guangzhou University.
She loves traveling and knowing about different cultures and making new friends.
