Improv can take us to ridiculous places - thats half the fun! Occasionally, it moves past the point of believability and can lose the audience. In this 6 hour workshop Rebecca will teach you how to ground your characters so you can play absurd moments believably. Shell give you the tools to connect with your scene partner in an unbreakable way so that the two of you together can take the scene to places youd never expect but that make perfect sense. The more grounded you play, the more you allow things to bubble up from an organic place, the more believably you can take the scene to absurd places.

About Rebecca Sohn

Rebecca Sohn has been an Improviser for 31 years. She spent 25 of those years in Chicago where she is an alum of Second City, Annoyance and iO. Some favorite groups shes performed with include Screw Puppies, The Armando Diaz Theatrical Experience and Hootenanny, GrabAss, TNT, Almost ATLANTa, Virgin Daiquiri and Switchboard. She has improvised and taught at festivals in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Portland, Boston, Denver, Kansas City, Austin, Toronto, London, Paris and more. After 24 years teaching improv for Annoyance, SC, iO and independently, she has become a highly sought after veteran with a reputation for creating a safe environment that nurtures risk.
