Block printing on textiles is a process of printing patterns, usually on linen, cotton or silk, with wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all textile printing methods but can be very artistic, valuable and satisfying as it is hand made.
In this workshop you will learn preparing the colors, using a few synthetic colors and creating different shades & colors and then correctly using the wooden blocks to print on fabric.  At the end of the class you will be taking home a cotton stole block printed by you.

Date:29th June Saturday  Time: 10:00am - 4:30pm

Natural dyes are colors derived from plants or minerals or any other natural sources. It can be made with  roots, peels, bark, fruits,  leaves, and wood and other natuaral sources.
In this workshop you will learn to prepare colors with some of the natural sources.  You will also learn how to enhance the colors and get different shades.  Then we will be using the natural colors to print on fabric.

Day 3: Tie & Dye
Date: 30th June Sunday  Time:10:00am - 4:30pm

Tie & Dye is one of the resist-dyeing techniques.  The process of Tie & Dye typically consists of folding, twisting, pleating, or crumpling fabric or a garment and binding with string or rubber bands, followed by application of dyes. These manipulations of fabric, partially or completely prevent the applied dye from coloring the fabric which creates beautiful and unique patterns.
