What does it mean to come together? To share time, space and stories? What makes us feel safe and heard?
These are some of the questions that we have been asking in the process of making city lamps. Coincidentally, these are also thoughts and ideas that we want to ask and put out there in the world, to the larger community during our debut playback theatre performance on May 25th, 2019 (Saturday), at the small studio of Shoonya- Centre for Art and Somatic Practices, Lalbagh Main Road, Bangalore.
We are excited to have our first show be a part of the first edition of the International Playback Theatre Festival, where 75 playback companies (and counting) from around the world; New Zealand to Chile, will perform playback theatre, at 7 PM local time on the same date(Saturday). We are inspired to start our public journey on this wonderful note of 'It's time to be together'.
Do come, join hands and threads of your real-life, personal narratives with ours and let's create a shared space of community, voices, and stories, together!
Please spread the word, call in your lovers, family, and foes.
Limited parking. Please arrive by at least 6:45 PM.
We are thankful to Ilya Bezrukov, director of the Parafraz and Aquarely playback theatre groups (Moscow) for initiating the idea of this wonderful international festival.
