Roopkund is located in the in the Chamoli district of Garhwal region, at an altitude of nearly 4,800 meters. It is considered as one of the best sites for trekking in Garhwal as it offers pleasing views of the Himalayas.

There are many routes for a trek to Roopkund but the most common route taken by travellers through Lohajung. The trek is about 53 kms long and can be completed in 7 to 8 days. The trail takes you through beautiful landscapes including some plains or flat areas where you can camp during the night.

Kufri, from the word “Kufr” meaning lake, is a tiny hill station located just 13 kms from Shimla. It was developed as a tourist destination by the British in the 19 th century and has continued to delight the tourists since. Despite being relatively unknown, Nag Tibba is a trekkers delight. It is the highest peak (9,915 ft) of the Garhwal Himalayas and can be considered one of the best weekend treks around Delhi. The Nag Tibba trek trail is circular like a serpent, where the finish point is different from the start point.

The trek is known for its lovely contrast of trails while ascending and descending. The trek takes you through dense forests abundant in flora and fauna and presents stunning views of Bandarpoonch peak, the Gangotri group of peaks, Kedarnath peak in the north, Doon valley and the snow peaks of Chanabang. While descending, the trail takes you through a completely contrasting landscape of a dense mixed forest of Oak, Rhododendron, Cider and Alpine.
